Paul Isaacs, Ph.D. |
Dr.
Isaacs brings to Canmark a unique skill-set based on his academic
background in research methodology and clinical psychology and
expertise in computer programming developed as a secondary focus while
pursuing graduate studies. He has a B.Sc. in Psychology with
specialization in Physiological Psychology from McGill University, and
an M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of
Waterloo. During his graduate studies, in the 1970’s, Dr. Isaacs
developed original software (computerized tachistoscopic presentation
of visual stimuli; sound editing before this technology was readily
available) to support the research methodology of his theses and the
research endeavors of faculty and students at several universities.
Prior to co-founding Canmark Technologies, Dr. Isaacs worked in a
clinical and research psychology/psychiatry setting at the University
Health Network (Toronto Hospital), a major teaching hospital, and
operated an independent computer consulting firm, Isaacs Computer
Consulting. He identified the need for data scanning technology that
allowed efficient processing of user-friendly, flexible format surveys
to address research needs and set about to create it in conjunction
with Gad Goldman. Dr. Isaacs’ combination of clinical psychology,
research and programming skills have allowed him to assist clients to
define their needs and deliver customized services.
